I’m not comming home

100_5765Today was another amazing day. This morning I went out with Rich and Isiah door to door. We had 3 salvations but we were able to encourage a few fellow believers. I’ve been nervous all week when we were going door to door but each time God has been with me and I have overcome my fears. This afternoon we did a youth rally we had a large group of kids that we were not only able to play games with and sing songs with but we were able to share the Gospel and show Gods love to each of them. the memories that Adam and I have of Honduras will never be lost yet we do not want to leave. I love my family and I love my job but I also love this place. It would not take much for me to move here. (sorry mom). the people here are very welcoming and loving. It makes you realize that in the states we get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget what our true focus is. we forget that God is the reason that we are here and we should do everything to glorify God. I will truely miss all of the people that we have meet. we have had four translators that we have not only shared the gospel with but we have also shared our lives with each other. I glad to be comming home but I am very sad to be leaving.DSC01782

love all of you!! thank you for all of your encouraging words and for supporting us all the way.  GOD BLESS!!   ERIN

GOD IS IN THIS PLACE!!!!

Today is not even half way over and already been awesome. This morning we visited a private school. The kids there spoke English so it was awesome to talk on our own and not through a translator. We were able to go to each room and visit the children. They were having recess when we arrived so we went around and handed out gospel tracks to the children. In this school there are ages preschool to 11th grade which here is equivalent to a senior. Stephanie and I then went to a spelling class where we were able to share the gospel to the whole class. We were also able to share our testimonies with the class. It is so amazing to be able to share God’s word at a school. We then went to a class with a teacher that was originally from Buffalo NY he had moved here because he met a women here on a mission trip and married her. He now teaches in the school that we were at today. It was very interesting to sit in his class and see how the kids here learn compared to the kids in the states. The kids here have 10 classes a day they have some in Spanish and some in English. They are very smart but not so well behaved. They all talk out at the same time and the teachers say that you have to earn the respect on the kids here rather than in the states where the respect is already there because you are a teacher. The last class that we stopped at was a spelling class we taught spelling to the kids we helped them with their spelling words and taught them who to put the words in sentences. It was great that we could participate and help them with their grammar and help them pronounce words that they were struggling with. Finally we taught the kids Jesus Loves Me and they loved the songs a few of the kids wrote down the words to our song so hopefully they will share it with their friends so that God’s word travels with them. I can’t imagine that today could get any better but I am sure that it will. GOD is GREAT, GOD is GOD, GOD is in HONDURAS!!! Love you guys and miss you all!! ERIN

God is Amazing!!!!

Today was another great day. I ‘m sad that it is already half way over. There is so much to talk about that I do not know where to start. We went out door to door this morning. This has never been something that I was comfortable with doing even though I was willing. This week has opened my eyes and I have a new found courage to share God’s word. The more you do it the easier it is.  This week has tought me that even though doing cards and making phone calls at GROW is great, door to door is truely an awesome expirence in it’s self. It is going to be much easier and I will no longer be so relunctant to go.

We did a VBS with the children today and it was greater than I could have imagined. Adam lead the bible story as the rest of the group acted out the story. we sang songs with the children and played games we had about 130-140 kids. at one point we played a game and we had enough children that when they lined up they filled the room from wall to wall it was truely amazing. Tonight we had one of the best worship services yet. Rich had a wonderful service and it is so amazing to know and see that our God is their God even when we can’t speak the same language. Attiendance was not high tonight due to the wheather, there was probably only 20-30 people excluding us but that place was alive. When we worshiped through singing the noise was louder than our church packed to capacity, at one point we were singing “Here I am to worship” in spanish and without even realizing it Amy and I were singing along with them in spanish. the work that God has done here is unbelieveable and this has been a trip that has truely touched my heat and changed my heart forever. God is truely amazing.

We are here!!

finally we are here the land was not a big deal not nearly as bad as I heard. we are here and settled after 13 hours of traveling.  the weather here is great it is so beautiful here. the temp is about 70 degrees and the sun was out. we are all set up and ready to share God’s word with the people of Comayagua.  The conditions here are not great but somewhat of what I expected. Seeing the children digging through the trash as we drove down the road will break your heart. Contuine to pray for our group and all the things that God has in store for us.
