People of KY

I’m coming home!!!!  I’m excited to leave Honduras.  Although, I do like it down here and I could see me and Erin living her and sharing the Gospel daily.  It’s time to go back home!  We have people in our own community that need to hear about how great and awesome our God is!  Many times when you come back from a place where your soul purpose is to only focus on Christ, you fall away from sharing at home.   I want to be fully committed to sharing the Gospel to our friends in family in MW.

Wes talked tonight about how he wants to go home and reach the people in MW as well.  Maybe us two and other memebers of Kings can come together and be willing to go out (not just on GROW night) and tell people about God’s love for them.  We’ll even put together a new team called “Share the Gospel to the world!”  Wanna join? Just talk to me and Wes.

We’ll see you all Sunday!

Love your brother in Christ

PS:  Can anyone tell me and Wes how our Kings teams did in the basketball league tonight?  Thanks!

Last day

Sadly today is the last day that we are going out door to door.   I would love to stay down here for another month.  We’re going to have a youth rally today and they are saying we could have up to 200 children.  NUTS!  We don’t have  a lot planned for it but we do have a few games and testimonies.  The rest is up to God.

I hope my family and friends haven’t missed me too much.   I know plenty of you would like me to stay down here!  And to my friends at FFSB-I hope work hasn’t been too boring without me there.  I’ll see you all when I get back home!

What can I say?

There is nothing more I can say other than God is Great!!!!!!!!!!  Total for the trip we have had 143 people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!  That is totally awesome.  Whats even better is that the people from the local churches will be following up with those who have been saved.  Tonight, I get to give my testimony.  I’m not nervous b/c I can talk about myself very well LOL.  But last night I got to hear the testimony of one of my Honduras brothers.  He’s 16 y/o and his name is Garson.  It was the first time that he gave his testimony.  He did an awesome job and it was amazing to hear how God changed his life while living here the same way God changes are lives at in the U.S.

I’ve encountered many people here who think that they are saved from hell b/c they are good people.  I want to tell you that good people go to hell too.  The only way we can go into heaven is through Christ.  I’ve realized how easy it is to share the gospel to strangers.  I know that Erin and I will continue sharing how great God is!!!   I want to challenge you to share your faith even if it is just your testimony to friends and family.  Remember, we are not guaranteed tomorrow or the next hour.  Don’t wait b/c if you don’t share that person may never hear about God’s love for them.

May God bless the USA

Worthy is the Lord

This week has been an experience I will never forget.  Yesterday was a very long day for all of us.  However, God gives us all strength to be able to get through the day.  On Tuesday we had a VBS and the kids there were beautiful.  As I read them the story from Matthew  about God walking on water I could see on their faces how closesly they were paying attention to me and others acting it out.  It was fun b/c we didn’t have a huge setup with props everywhere.  We had four tubs for our boat, two blue sheets for the water and bats as paddles!!  It’s sad to know that in North America we make our VBS as elegant as we can in part b/c our children are spoiled.  One look at what the children down here have and you think to yourself “I feel so sorry for them.”  But they are content and don’t know anything more then what they own.  I think at churches in U.S. we take away what is truely important and that is Christ.  The VBS was also fun b/c we taught the children how to play poto, poto, gonzo (duck, duck, goose)  They had no idea what the game was.

This week has been so much fun and the worship services here are awesome!  They aren’t afraid to sing out to the Lord and to say AMEN!  The church the other night was small but so loud!  They go to church here every night and if they can sing loud, raise their hands, and praise God all through the service, why can’t we do that on the one day we give God?  The services here last an 1 1/2 hours or more.  I’m sad that this week is drawing to an end.  But I know that I can take back what these people have helped me understand even more.  And that is how to truely worship God with all your heart and all your strength.

Love,

Today

Today we are going out door to door again.  This is a wonderful opportunity to share what Jesus is doing and has done for us.  This morning as we did our daily devotion we talked about how our salvation is not about us.  It’s about what Christ has done for us.  It’s not about what we have done or what we did in our own lives.  Its all about God and his mercy he has showed us.  Today, as we go out in just a few minutes, and as we share our testimonies and as we share how great and wonderful God is we have to focus on Christ alone.  If we take our eyes off him even for a second we will lose focus of what Christ is about.  This afternoon will be extremely exciting for me as we do a VBS.  I have such a passion to see young children come to know Jesus Christ.   We’re talking about how Jesus walked on water.  Bus is leaving I have to go!!!!

The Lords work

100_5178The last few days have been very awesome here!  This country is very beautiful and the people here are so open to talking to us.  The church services here are amazing!  Its fun to watch and listen to the people who love the Lord.  I may not be able to speak their language but I can tell how much love they have for Christ.

Today as we went out into the towns and talked to the people about Christ, we encountered a few kids who were sitting on the sidewalk.  When I talked to these kids I asked them where they thought they would go if they died today.  All of them said that they either didn’t know or hell.  As I talked to them about the love of Jesus Christ and how he died for our sins, I could see in their faces that they were truely interested.  It was such a blessing to see these children to come to know Jesus today as all of them asked Him into their heart.    It’s so awesome to know that today 21 people accepted the Lord as their Savior.    I ask that you will continue to pray for us while we are on our trip and that you will pray for the people in Honduras.  This country is very open to listening to what we have to say.  One guy even said thank you to us for sharing the gospel.

I want to say thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me along the way!  Stay tuned for more posts!!!!!!DSC01496

Love you all,

Don’t be Jonah’s

As I listened to 105.9 last night, Wally talked about how he faught the Lord over the direction his life was going.  God wanted him to go one way and Wally said it was something he didn’t want to do.  We forget that the Lord knows all and only does what is best for us.  Too many times we are Jonah’s.  We want to do what we think is best for us and don’t follow the leadership of our Lord.

We’re told to go into this world and make deciples (Matt 28: 19-20)  Going into this world starts at home.  If we can’t talk to friends and family about God’s love at home, how can we go elsewhere?  This year let’s try to not be Jonah’s.  Instead, let’s be followers of Christ by sharing to others how Christ died for our sins b/c he loved us so much.  Remember this statment for the year:  Our attitudes and actions reflect our heart!

BTW do you remember what happened to Jonah?  He ened up in a big fish and following God’s will anyway!

New Year/New Hope

2009 had many ups and downs for me.  As I move forward into 2010 and prepare myself mentally for things to come I get very excited at whats ahead.   This trip to Honduras will be an eye opening experience.  I am really excited to see how God is going to work in the natives lives and our own.  While Erin and I are gone on this trip I want you to pray for our team and pray for the Hondurians.   I pray that 2010 will bring new hope to the people who live within the community we are visiting and to myself.
