Everyone is chilling now,we just got back fom church and ate supper. Had two proud dads for the service tonight. Isaiah gave his testimony and C-anna sang In Christ Alone. This moment is the calm before the storm – we’re gonna go big before we go home. With three services, vbs, and Rich becoming the tele-evangelist it will be a full day. But we’ll end the trip strong. Today was fun, we fed over 100 kids after sharing the good news that Jesus is our good shepherd. This was the poorest area we’ve been in, one girl Teresa had no shoes, matted up hair, and looked like she was sick with a cold but didnt have tissues. But she had the biggest smile when she won the jumprope contest. And we gave out hygene items to everyone there. They pushed back and tried to get more and it was hard to keep order for a few minutes. We weren’t giving out ipods or the hottest christmas toy, but travel sized toothpaste and toothbrushes. It’s eye opening. I loved facepainting. Its always my favorite part of interacting with kiddos, using what little spanish I knew I was able to ask what they wanted and in what color. I loved seeing their smiles seeing their colorful faces in the mirror. First time Id ever painted sheep, but they went with the Bible story. Baa.
how did the week go by so fast?
It seems like yesterday when we were just departing from louisville. It has been a wonderful week so far, and the team has accomplished many things together, through “interpratators” (as Eddie would say), and most of all, Christ. I know that we’ll finish up the week strong. I’m so happy that we’ve been able to see hundreds of people profess their faith in christ! God has really blessed us.
The adventure continues
Well, two days ago while watching the kids during the women’s conference; I was taking a little girl to the restroom. We had to walk to a nearby restaurant in the dark. I didn’t have a translator with me, the little girl was talking fast and furious and holding on tight. Evidently, she was warning me. I stepped into the sewer, luckily I could pick her up and take her across safely. Then yesterday, I was chased down and almost pulled out of the van by a sweet women and kissed, kissed, hugged, and almost pulled out of the van.
The biggest adventure, though is sharing the gospel with these wonderful, happy people. No matter what condition they are living in, they are so grateful. They are constantly telling us how blessed they are for what they have in their lives. I have learned so much from them. I need to be more grateful for what I have in my life and love others like Christ loves us.
Today, we visited another church to feed the children. Again, the kids were so happy just to play simple games and receive candy and a small McDonald toy. Pray for me tomorrow as I give my testimony, as many of you know; I am not a speaker. But this mission trip has taught me to get out of my comfort zone. I thought I could never go door to door either, but with God’s grace I was able to do just that.
Continue to pray for our team tomorrow as we have three church services to attend, and for a safe trip home.
In Christ

PS. LOVE YOU JOE, JOEY AND CASSIDY. Ps cassidy and Joe your have two days, I am heading home.
Weary and Tired but Still Excited
Things are going well. The team is beginning to get a little weary from the long days. There has been a lot of walking and while you have all seen snow, it has been on the hot side here. I think for many of us the dusty roads and long days are beginning to take their toll, but we are still very excited with what God has done so far and there is still two more days.
We have witnessed over 200 professions of faith so far this week. And while I know that not everyone was genuine I truly believe that many were and the work that is being done here is mighty and that we can only dream of such a revival back home.
Tomorrow, I am told, I will be known across the country of Honduras as I am going to preach on ‘Canal 40’ or channel 40 to us I’m the States. One of the larger churches, where I will be preaching tonight has a television program on Sunday Mornings, and I guess Pamela thought that I needed to preach on the air.
While I have to admit, this is way outside my comfort zone, I am not afraid, because I don’t worry as much about embarrassing myself as I do mishandling God’s Word and for that I am prepared by His grace. Who knew, Pastor Rich the televangelist, haha…not!
Continue to pray for the team, especially the interpreters or interpretaters as one of our team calls them, and also the people we will meet in the next 48 hours that God’s simple truth will penetrate their hearts.
On Monday, pray that we have safe travel home, but also pray the the Gospel Switch that many of us have turned on this week will not be turned off once we get home.
Grace through Christ and 4HisService

And Jesus said “Let the children come to me”
Today was spent focused on mainly the children and it just reminded me that the children are just as much if not more important than the adults. Kids have this way of just taking things at face value and not asking questions, and that we need to realize as humans that we can not understand everything and that which we can not understand isn’t always fake. 95 percent of the known universe is something called dark matter which is only called that because we can not understand it. You ask a little kid what it is and they’ll tell you it’s just a place where nothing is there and that God didn’t create anything there. Sometimes I just wish that we could be like little children with our faith, where we just accept that we need God.
Fourth day
We have been so busy from 6am to 9 or 10 every day starting to get tired but this is so awsome you want to go on and on wish we had more time with these fine people. Two more days Saturday is a little slower than the rest of the week but Sunday is jam packed.
Today has been another wow day we did the sin box I have never seen it but it was great the kids loved it. I got to be a sheep again in our lost sheep skit again the kids laugh and think it is great. Tonight Jeff gave his testamony it was awsome. Then Rich gave a wonderful serman and three were saved. So far they say 200 have came to the lord this week. We have a couple of transaters having throat problems so please pray for all of them they work so hard you can not imagine the work the do. When we went to Germany I remember Sina saying it is exhausting because there sentence structure is deferent than ours and so is spanish. Pamela said at the end of the day she is so tired so please again pray for these amazing girls Pamela is 28, Lucila is 31, Vannesa is 32, and Jenifer is 18 and Pamelas sister. Pamelas mom is one of our cooks and her husband is our drive. Her mom can make anything taste good.
Oh yes we did a dance with kids call chew cha waa and every body has been laughing at my dancing skills. I have had better than a wonderful time GOD is so great.
Just Suck It Up and Get Over It
Yesterday, to be honest was probably one of the hardest/scariest days of my life. But I just had to suck it up and get over it, as Terry said (the local missionsary). Though not because of a fear of a monster or some terrifying task or adventure in the sense you might think. It was my first day doing door-to-door evangelism. Wow, I have never been stretched so hard in one afternoon. I was so scared I would mess up my sharing of the Gospel. But once I got started sharing with this lady, God took away my fears. It wasn’t until after we walked away from the house that I got scared again, scared of the fact that I might have left something out. But God provided as he always does. Though all the people we shared the Gospel with did not come to Christ, we still planted seeds. Please pray for all the people who we shared the Gospel with. Yesterday evening we had a men’s and women’s conference. A few of us watched the kids, Me, Collin, Laura, Susie, Isaiah, Ida, and Jennifer our translator. We somehow managed to keep around 50 kids alive and happy (at least most of them, oh no don’t worry no one died). Collin found a friend (he nick-named him “Buddy”), Collin held him for most of the night. I’m pretty sure Buddy would have gone home with Collin in his backpack if Collin had tried to put him there, Buddy was so mellow. I found myself a friend too. He fell asleep in my arms, it was pretty sweet. But originally, he was the kid running around kicking and hitting people, I had to pull him away from a girl at one time and tell him no. Normally the stranger who disciplines the kid, the kid puts in his bad book forever. I found it interesting he let me hold him. This morning we held a “fiesta”. It was pretty fun, quite a few kids showed up. We got to put on a little skit called the “sin box”, its pretty much a skit that explains the Gospel. We will be having a leadership conference this evening.
Please continue to keep the trip in your prayers.

chicken patty thursday
Yesterday was chicken patty thursday! I was too tired to write yesterday after supper but I know some of you guys would appreciate the fact that we had chicken patties for supper last night. It was a long day, lots of time spent on the road driving to our locations ( which with Susie, Isaiah, and Jason with me in the back was quite entertaining! Lol.) The second run of doortodoor evangelism was different than this morning, but still with a purpose. We were able to encourage two catholic believers in their faith and answer some of their questions about scripture. It was neat to be a small part of discipleship on their spiritual journey. Later we had a great turnout for the womensconference. Props to everyone who helped coral the crowd of kiddos. This team is great – everyone just keeps chipping in wherever theres a need.
Ps, congrats to the Hedbergs. Aubrey Ann is beautiful! 🙂
Pps, to the Grom family – Susie found a friend. Dont worry, Ive got video of the monkey with the little monkey. Lol.
Ppss, Anderson, theres a car parts place here that makes me think of you – yonkers. Lol
Challenges and a Reminder to be Humble
Yesterday was not as productive as the day before within our team. We were in an area that had a strong Catholic presence and there were many that told us that only God would know who would and would not go to heaven. We spent a good amount of time trying to make them understand that we can know because we can trust the creator of the universe to keep all that he promises.
Though the people we shared with were more of a challenge, the area we were in was also humbling. Many lived about 4km down a difficult dirt and rock road that only a 4 wheel drive and goat cart can make it down. Most of the homes did not have electricity or even floors. It’s humbling every time we come as to how much we do have back and the amount that we still think we need.
I am also humbled by how faithful God is to the harvest when the workers are plentiful. May we all cast off our comfort and get motivated to seek the lost.
I have watched plumbers, welders, factory workers, garbage men, bankers, teachers, teenagers, and yes, even pastors give up their comfort, their time, and sometimes even their own humility in order to proclaim the gospel.
Each of us should ask ourselves, what will we give up for the least of these?
How Great is our GOD
Every single day serving among the team has been a blessing, but I have to say that today will be a day that’ll stay in my memories for the rest of my life. Wes, Stephanie, Jeff, Lucy, some locals and I were able to go door to door and witness to people the good news. many were unreceptive or devout catholics, but as a team we managed to get 5 people to accept christ into their lives! Once we began the door to door Evangilism after lunch, I was put in a team with Eddie, Terry ( the man that has blessed us with a house to stay in) and Robert (a local pastor). I had already written up a quick overview of how I was going to share my faith, but the lord convicted my heart to evangilize with a different outline that involved a lot more scripture that, together, told the story of how Christ died for us. Through God’s awesome power, The team managed to place their faith in jesus! I’m fortunate that god strengthened me through the holy spirit, because I know that if he hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to get a family of 7 to pray that they will no longer be enemies of god but followers of christ, or to convinced a woman who thought she had never sinned that even the slightest liittle sin seperates us of God, and that our works our like filthy rags compared to Gods grace. To HIM be the glory. I was fortunate enough to run into a Little two year old kid as I helped out with the children at the Men/Women’s conference. He must have been two years old, because he sure didn’t talk much. He was running away from his group, from what it sounded like (and I don’t speak two year old spanish) looking for his parents. I was able to comfort him , hold him, and make him laugh for a whole 2 hours. I asked for his name (in spanish) but I’m guessing he was to young to know himself. So to me, he was just my little Buddy haha. God’s Children are beautiful. Thank all of you for you’re prayers. God is doing big things in Comayagua Honduras, and I’m honored that myself and the rest of the team are vessels for it.
